Impressive fuel returns and reliability has seen Welch’s Transport take delivery of a further two new Renault Premium tractor units. The new Premiums will service a recently extended contract for a major global customer, Ardex, as Welch’s Transport confirms that the Renault Premium is its ‘truck of choice’ moving forward. The two Renault Premium Route 460 6×2 trucks with Privilege cabs, were supplied through WTL Truck and Van Centre and join a 70-strong mixed fleet of Renault, MAN and DAF.

Jim Welch, Managing Director, Welch’s Transport, says: “We have always got on well with the Renault Premium and for the last few years have bought exclusively Renault. The Premiums are low maintenance, reliable trucks and, with average fuel returns in excess of 9mpg, they are also the most fuel efficient trucks on our fleet.”

The company is so pleased with how the Renault Premiums are performing that it is to make the Renault Premium the mainstay of the Welch Transport fleet going forward.

Welch’s Transport Ltd has a fleet of 70 vehicles, employs over 100 staff, with an annual transport turnover of £9m. Ardex is a global company specialising in the development, manufacture and marketing of premium quality, specialist tiling products and construction materials for the flooring, tiling and rendering industries.
