W & J Chambers Ltd, building and concrete products supplier based in Drumahoe, Co. Derry has recently taken delivery of a 2014 Volvo FMX 8×4 tipper via a silent auction from Dennison Commercials of Ballyclare, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland.

New FMX - W J Chambers webThe vehicle, which was originally a Dennison’s demonstrator, was specified from new with a number of extras including, a Volvo Drive+ package with Bluetooth, air conditioning and arm rests, a beacon bar, front and rear strobe lights and a reversing camera.

The I-Shift automated gearbox came complete with construction software and the truck is also Dynafleet (Volvo’s telematics system) enabled.

The tipper has a double-skinned steel C-Tec body, with Hyva front end ram.

Dennisons made the decision to offer the demonstrator to the marketplace via a silent auction due to the high demand for such vehicles in the second-hand market. Potential bidders were invited to tender their offer via Dennison’s Used Truck website, www.denn-ex.com.

Since the truck was delivered to Will and Alan Chambers, the company has subsequently had the vehicle painted in their own company colours and Dennison’s Vehicle Handover Specialist, David Bowes, has visited the Company’s headquarters to provide training to drivers on the new vehicle technology.

Rob Ireland, Sales Director for Dennison Commercials said, “Despite the fact that our FMX demonstrator was advertised widely within the UK and Ireland, we were delighted that a local company was the highest bidder. We wish W & J Chambers all the best with their new asset.”
