TyrePal, the tyre technology company is exhibiting at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham next month.

The company says, its innovative product can save hauliers thousands of litres of fuel, reduce tyre wear and halve roadside breakdowns!

These are big claims, but tyres under-inflated by just 1 bar can add 2 per cent to fuel consumption for an HGV. That’s £1,000 on a fuel bill of £50,000. And tyre life is reduced by 10 per cent or more.

Tyres are the biggest single cause of commercial vehicle breakdowns, but continuous monitoring can head off problems on the road. TyrePal systems monitor tyre temperature as well as pressure, so an over-heating tyre or one at low pressure triggers a warning before it causes a damaging blowout or fire.

TyrePal’s innovative TPMS continuously measures temperature and pressure of tyres, giving clear and distinct alerts for low pressure, high pressure, air leaking or an overheating tyre. The system continues monitoring when the vehicle is parked, so it always gives advanced warning of tyre problems.

The TC215 system is a straight-forward retro fit for rigid vehicles, artics, trailers and fleets and there’s a choice of sensor types. A display in the cab gives alerts directly to the driver, and systems can also be linked to telematics for monitoring at the fleet office.

Systems will be on display at the CV show and evaluation sets will be on sale from just £199 for a six wheel system. This is a low-risk opportunity to evaluate a real money-saver!
