Nathan entertained children at the hospital’s Blossom Children and Young People’s Centre, before heading over to the maternity unit to sing ‘Rock Me Mama’ to all the new ‘mamas’ and babies.

Craigavon Area Hospital is the nominated charity for Shamrock Solstice.

Anna Breen, from event sponsors Stena Line said: “Stena Line is proud to sponsor Shamrock Solstice and we are delighted to support such a worthy community initiative.  We wish all the Shamrock Solstice team the very best of luck with their first ever festival, which no doubt will be a huge success with the calibre of Nathan Carter headlining.”

Nathan Carter said; “I was honoured and humbled to perform at Craigavon Area Hospital today.  What better way to congratulate new mums, than to sing ‘Rock Me Mama?!’ And, the children in the Blossom Centre were adorable and great fun, singing along to many of my hit songs.  I’m thoroughly looking forward to performing at Shamrock Solstice in June.  It’s always exciting to play at a festival which is the ‘first’ of its kind and Portadown is no exception. Summer Solstice is going to be rockin’ at Shamrock Solstice.”

Also appearing on the Shamrock Solstice bill with Nathan Carter on 23 June is Hugo Duncan and Friends and Eddie Carey. Tickets for Shamrock Solstice, sponsored by Stena Line cost £25.00 (standing) £28.00 (seated) and limited VIP £40 tickets available, which includes a ‘meet and greet’ with Nathan.  All tickets are available from www.ticketmaster.ie and www.ticketsource.co.uk
