BRS Ltd., one of the UK’s leading suppliers of commercial vehicle contract hire solutions, has provided 13 new Renault trucks to leading logistics service provider, Norbert Dentressangle. Following impressive fuel returns of over 13mpg on a Renault Midlum demonstrator vehicle, the five Renault Premium 270.18 4×2 rigids, five Renault Midlum 270.18 and three Renault Midlum 180.08, all with Optitronic automated gearboxes, have been supplied through BRS on a full five year repair and maintenance contract.Norbert Dentressangle - Mitsubishi Electric

The new trucks have been acquired for Norbert Dentressangle’s contract with leading electrical and electronic equipment manufacturer, Mitsubishi Electric. They have all been delivered in Mitsubishi Electric’s new livery and will undertake nationwide, multi-drop, next day distribution.

Peter Firm, Contract Manager, Norbert Dentressangle, says: “We chose the Optitronic automated transmission for all 13 vehicles. This choice was heavily influenced by the excellent fuel economy we recorded with a Renault Midlum 18 tonne demonstrator in July 2012, which increased our fuel returns by an impressive 7%.”

He continues: “We have always had a good relationship with Renault Trucks. They continue to provide the right truck for the job and the back up and nationwide support we receive through the Renault Trucks network is very efficient. BRS Ltd. worked hard to supply the trucks to our exact specification and provide a supportive and comprehensive account management service. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with both BRS and Renault Trucks.”

The company has an additional 40 Renault Midlums on order, through BRS, for delivery later in the year.

Tony Cracknell, Sales Manager – National Accounts, BRS Ltd. says: “We are delighted to have won this contract which was the result of working closely with Norbert Dentressangle, at both local and corporate level, to ensure we deliver the most suitable product and high level of service demanded by a company such as Mitsubishi Electric. The vehicles supplied will deliver excellent fuel economy, while main dealer servicing will ensure continued product reliability throughout the contract. Furthermore, our close relationship with Renault Trucks means we can support the day-to-day operational needs of the contract on a nationwide basis through the entire Renault Trucks UK network.”

Norbert Dentressangle is one of the country’s largest logistics and transport providers, with more than 12,800 employees across 195 sites, 1,800 vehicles and around 2.5 million sq. m of warehousing. The company offers a complete range of services including dedicated and shared-user warehousing and transport to both manufacturers and retailers, temperature controlled food logistics, reverse logistics, environmental operations management and freight forwarding and is part of the Norbert Dentressangle Group, an international transport, logistics and freight forwarding company, with annual turnover of €3.9 billion in 2012.
