Forward Trucking Services, the specialist secure haulage operator, based in St Albans Hertfordshire have added 10 Krone Dry Liner box trailers to their fleet which, says the company, will ensure dry and safe carriage for a major secure-mail contract with the  DX Group. Furthermore, Krone delivered the new trailers in just seven weeks.910515 - Krone -FTS web

Trunking overnight from 11 UK locations to the company’s Nuneaton hub, the Dry Liners are carrying parcels and documents for the DX E – business to business document exchange and DXS – secure mail service.

“We have been providing a secure delivery service for DX for 22 years”, says Forward Trucking General Manager Barry Simmonds, “and recently we needed to upgrade the old trailer fleet. We turned to Krone because not only were they able to provide the specification we needed but also, we were able to take delivery in seven weeks from order.  We needed to move quickly and no one else could get close to this lead time.”

The Dry Liners  are certified to meet the European load safety standard, DIN EN 12642 (Code XL) and come with a 10 year paint guarantee, high security aluminium roller shutters, Krone’s full load locking system and integrated LED internal lighting.

“This is German trailer engineering at its best,” adds Barry, “we reviewed the market and this product certainly looks like the best available in terms of quality and will be more than able to provide the safety and security which is paramount for this contract.”

Established in 1967, FTS has over four decades of transport experience and specialises in national and international palletised freight distribution and general haulage, including waste disposal. The company is also a leading provider of international services to the music and events industry.  A past and notable contract involved the provision of over one hundred trucks for Madonna’s ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour which involved 27 dates across Europe.

“These Dry Liners are of course ideally suited for the transport of high tech and high value equipment which is used in the music and events industry”,  continues Barry, “and if required they can be switched over to any of these dedicated contracts – the Code XL being a prerequisite for this type of high security European and international work.

“Furthermore”, concludes Barry Simmonds, “the trailers are well supported throughout Europe by Krone’s Service Locator network and should we need parts in a hurry, we can order them direct online. Generally, it’s a great top-to-tail service which we can pass on to our customers with confidence.”
