Leading commercial body and trailer manufacturer, Cartwright Group, is promoting the theme of Innovation at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC (April 30 to May 2) showcasing a diverse range of new and innovative products.

South Manchester based Cartwright has enjoyed yet another record year in terms of volume and annual turnover and the exhibits displayed on its stand reflect the company’s ethos of innovation across its product and service portfolio.

Five outstanding products will be featured on the Cartwright stand (3A40) at this year’s CV Show conveying Cartwright’s reputation for engineering excellence as well as its ability to offer its customers a bespoke solution to their requirements.

Cartwright has recently designed and built a 3.5t low ride rigid box van with one intention in mind; to build a low entry parcel delivery body that will stand the test of a high utilisation parcel delivery operation. The flush rear doors carry a slam lock feature and also a step in the bulk head with hand poles for the operator access the additional space in the over cab void. In addition to the standard safety features the body is equipped with a PIR controlled light to offer clear visibility in dark or night time conditions. This product demonstrates what the Cartwright brand stands for; product diversity with innovation.  This body, which is on a Vauxhall Movano chassis for major customer Hermes is supplied with Whole Vehicle Type approval.

Another noteworthy product on the Cartwright stand this year, is a postless straight frame tri-axle curtainsider trailer built on a Cartwright chassis.

Displayed in Cartwright livery, this new trailer features a tapered cantrail clearspan and offers the advantage of a choice of postless designs from one manufacturer.

The postless design also gives the benefits of making it easier and faster to load, as well as reducing the risks of potential damage during the loading procedures.

To add up to the strength and long-lasting benefits of this trailer, the bolted chassis construction of this trailer guarantees paint coverage and corrosion protection.

This year, the company will also be unveiling a step frame double deck refrigerated trailer, resplendent in Cartwright livery.

The new fridge trailer, with a sub 14.5t tare weight, has an overall height of 4650mm with two decks of 1830mm.  This ground-breaking double deck fridge can save up to three to four per cent in fuel savings compared to 4800mm standard double decks in the UK, but does not compromise on overall insulation, K-value and payload.

Cartwright’s aerodynamic technology on this fridge trailer can also be applied to straight-frame trailers to reduce fuel consumption.

An additional benefit is that the height of this trailer allows it to access operate in RoI and other height restricted applications.

Another example of the diverse offering from Cartwright is the 7.5t box van rigid IVECO CNG gas truck showcased for the first time on this year’s Cartwright stand.

This new product is the result of the recent collaboration between the Cartwright Group division CFS (Cartwright Fleet Services) and IVECO.

Cartwright is renowned for working closely with its customers and this has led to the creation of this new gas vehicle for IVECO – a partnership which has created the right body for the gas vehicle – an IVECO CNG combined with a Cartwright box body, offering lower emissions whilst having the benefits of maximising the payload.

Cartwright is displaying yet another bespoke Urban fridge trailer supporting this year’s theme of Innovation on the stand.

With the benefit of a rebated LoadLok’, it prevents damage to packaging.

With a 50/50 split bulkhead running from front to rear, it offers a dual compartment for either chilled frozen or ambient storage.

Furthermore, it has the advantage of being more manoeuvrable, is equipped with a tail lift and has a floor top surface which is repeatedly renewable for heavy usage.

Mark Cartwright, Group Managing Director of the Cartwright Group commented: “This year CV Show will be another showcase of what our design and engineering teams can achieve with our outstanding manufacturing capabilities. We will present a wide range of innovative products highlighting our focus on technology and new processes a Cartwright brand has built its reputation over more than six decades.

“Our product range has continually evolved to meet the requirements of our customers across an increasingly wide range of markets not only in the UK, but on a global scale, confirming our company slogan ‘Better. Built in Britain’,” he added.
