BRS Ltd., one of the UK’s leading suppliers of commercial vehicle contract hire solutions, has supplied 25 new Renault Premiums to B&Q for its trade operation, TradePoint. Specifically built for the operation, the new Renault Premium 380.26 6×2 chassis cabs have been fitted with triple dropside bodies, by Transport Enterprises and a Hiab XS122 B2 lorry loader crane. The Renault Premiums were chosen by TradePoint because of the ‘best all round package’ they provide, in a tender prepared by BRS against competitor marques, including MAN and Mercedes.TradePoint

BRS is already a long term partner of B&Q for home delivery services and the new trucks will extend its range of services to include heavyside building materials. The Renault Premiums are part of a full service contract with BRS which includes the vehicles, drivers and management. They will operate from TradePoint hubs across the UK, providing a delivery service to tradesmen onsite.

Marc Ferris, TradePoint Hub Project Manager, explains why the company opted for Renault for its first truck purchase of this type: “BRS already has a long established relationship with B&Q and we were very impressed with the proposal that they came back with for the TradePoint fleet. Compared to its competitors, Renault Trucks offered the best all-round package, with a fuel efficient, reliable and driver friendly product. We have had the vehicles for two months now and the drivers are delighted

Graham Scholes, Operations Director, BRS Ltd., says: “BRS is very aware that fuel economy and vehicle uptime are paramount to delivering a cost effective and reliable service. The Renault Premium is renowned for its fuel economy and working with the Renault Trucks dealer network across the UK, any vehicles downtime is expected to be minimal. We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to partner with TradePoint as the company continues to grow its operation.”

TradePoint is the trade customer division of leading home improvement retailer, B&Q and is dedicated to the needs of the trade customer, offering trade brands at trade prices. TradePoint sales are growing fast and the new fleet allows a nationwide heavyside site drop service to be offered to its customer base.

Established in 1948, BRS Ltd. operates a large commercial rental and contract hire fleet. BRS shares its headquarters with Renault Trucks UK Ltd. at Dunstable, Bedfordshire. As a result, BRS is able to take full advantage of group synergies and the close working relationship with Renault Trucks in the creation and delivery of its contract hire and truck rental transport solutions.
