Tilbury-based 3 Dees Transport have added 6 Krone Box Liner container carriers to their fleet which, say the company, combine weight advantage with fast loading to bring long term commercial benefits.

Strategically located by Tilbury docks, 3 Dees operate a mixed trailer fleet of maximum-payload curtainsiders, low-loaders and container trailers throughout the UK and Europe, as Director Kenny Elsdon explains:

Low tare-weight and flexible loading are key to maintaining a competitive service and as container transport is a significant part of our operation, it’s important to use only the most flexible equipment which will enable us to achieve maximum utilisation and a fast return on investment.”

In this regard the sliding-bogie Krone Box Liner is designed to carry 20’, 30’, 40’ and 45’ containers, two boxes at once or any standard sized tank, with quick-release twist locks to ensure fast and easy handling.

Manufactured by Krone in Germany, the Box Liner was designed with close involvement from the Krone UK sales team – primarily to ensure compatibility with the UK and Irish market.

Furthermore, the Box Liner combines tried and tested features with the latest KTL paint application process and optional telematics technology. The result, says Krone, is a no-nonsense specification with 10 years guarantee against corrosion perforation, built for loading flexibility, asset management control and a long working life.

The paint finish is tough and looks immaculate,” adds Kenny. “Important when you consider the need to maintain a good image and especially considering the busy pick-up and drop ferry operation which these trailers are designed for.”

With their eye on the strengthening container cargo sector, 3 Dees Transport is growing fast and aiming for further expansion in the foreseeable future. Kenny Elsdon concludes:

Over the years and for different operations I have tried just about every skeletal trailer and can say without doubt, Krone have come up with a container carrier which ticks all the boxes and is definitely built to last.”
