Truck & Plant Engineering, a specialist commercial vehicle repairer, has become the latest company to adopt the r2c Online system.

TruckAndPlantEngineeringLtd LogoEstablished in 1999, Truck & Plant Engineering is a well-established commercial vehicle repair outfit operating out of Beccles, Norfolk. The workshop specialises in a full portfolio of repair and maintenance services for both vans and HGVs.

r2c Online was adopted after Truck & Plant Engineering recognised the need to switch to a web -based workshop management system, just as many others in the industry have been doing, believing that this would help the efficiency and productivity of the company.

In just a short space of time r2c Online has already delivered improvements in efficiency, cost savings and increased productivity, as Truck & Plant Engineering’s Managing Director Tony Vale outlined, “The software streamlines the entire process. We’re not wasting time chasing or searching for lost paperwork anymore. Because it’s web-based I can access it at weekends to plan the week ahead and it’s easier for us to manage work schedules because we no longer have to phone customers to confirm that they are coming in – r2c Online now takes care of all of that”.

Such efficiency improvements have translated into tangible financial benefits, as Vale explains, “Because we’re not on the phone chasing customers or dealing with manual paperwork, we’re spending more time working on vehicles and winning more business, generating more income.”

Launched in 2009, r2c Online has been created to connect commercial vehicle fleets and repairers through the same online platform. In the workshop the system enables companies such as Truck & Plant Engineering to manage workflows electronically and produce digital inspection sheets; with their customers able to book their vehicle in for work online and monitor the progress of their vehicle through the workshop remotely.

Tony Vale explained Truck & Plant Engineering’s reasons for choosing the r2c Online solution, “We spoke to other customers in the area using r2c Online and they recommended the product to us. Once we’d seen a demonstration for ourselves we were really impressed.”

Externally, Truck & Plant Engineering have also seen r2c Online deliver increased customer satisfaction as Vale explained, “Customers have told us that the speed and availability of information is a real benefit to them. That’s fantastic because we are improving our own processes but also adding value to our customers too.”
