Leading trailer company TIP Trailer Services UK Limited has announced that it has acquired the entire share capital of Bell Trailers (Rental) Limited, with the deal being successfully concluded on August 21, 2015.

Bell Trailers has a rental fleet of 1,400 trailers comprising predominantly of curtain sided trailers, although there are also refrigerated, box van and skeletal trailers within the existing fleet. Bell Trailers will continue to operate from its existing site in Nelson, and will retain its existing management team.

Announcing details of the trailer fleet acquisition, TIP UK’s General Manager Mike Furnival said, “We are very excited about the acquisition of Bell Trailers as we are acquiring an excellent business which is fully focused on delivering quality equipment and service to their customers. The addition of TIP’s service products, combined with our UK and European network, should only enhance the excellent service currently being provided”

Bell Trailers was established in 1988, and has grown to its existing fleet size of 1,400 trailers through strong organic growth. They have operated from their existing site in Nelson, Lancashire since 1998.

Commenting on the decision to sell the business to TIP, Bell Trailer’s Managing Director Michael Bell commented, “The timing was right for us to complete this deal and we firmly believe that further growth will be achieved under the ownership of a company that we trust, and will continue to provide excellent service to our existing customers.”
