Roadsense Technology, the tracking and telematics specialist, is celebrating its first successful year in the UK by giving away an in-cab accident camera to new tracking customers from now until the end of May.

Roadwatch Camera small copyThe Roadwatch i200 Camera will be professionally installed and can be integrated with the Roadsense Telematics system so that users can see what actually happens in the event of harsh manoeuvres or accidents.

“Staged accidents and cash for crash schemes in the UK are costing almost £400 million every year,” said Andrew Tillman, managing director of Roadsense. “It’s often the fleet operators, unable to disprove liability, that bear the cost,” he added. “The installation of cameras can help to redress the balance”.

“Because we are passionate about reducing accidents and risk on the roads, we decided to do something to promote safer driving.” He added, “We think that if we can demonstrate to customers the benefits of in-cab cameras, more of them will adopt the technology and improve road safety for everyone. Many UK insurers are offering discounts to users, so the cost and ROI now makes them an indispensible tool for protecting assets and Company reputation.”

The Roadwatch camera continuously records video via the forward facing and optional interior facing cameras. Together with audio, the images of any harsh events that it detects are recorded and securely stored. It also has a panic button that the driver can activate, providing protection in the event of road-rage incidents, or any time they feel threatened.
