Transport Exchange Group has launched a new version of its popular mobile app to provide added visibility and control to members of Haulage Exchange and Courier Exchange. Owner drivers, couriers and road transport operators using the freight trading platform can benefit from a range of new features and enhancements that help better advertise real-time location and availability of vehicles, as well as give immediate operational insight to trusted partners.

Mobile App UpgradeThe original mobile app has been downloaded by more than 10,000 drivers since its launch in 2012 and is now widely used to share real-time data regarding available vehicles, so members of Haulage Exchange and Courier Exchange can make best use of resources or access additional capacity. The latest version has been developed based on feedback from existing users to ensure it possesses the required functionality, accuracy and simplicity to support interactive collaboration between freight trading partners.

In particular, status and workflow functionality has been updated to promote greater accuracy of published information and provide access to additional real-time and historical load data while on the move. Meanwhile, a “Who’s nearby?” feature displays all tracked members within 30 miles of a vehicle’s location, enabling drivers to network with other members locally and help decide if they want to quote on a load based on capacity in the area.

Easy navigation and new graphical layouts also make bookings easier to view, clarify and action, so drivers are able to save time using the app while on the road. This will include the ability to receive and work on more than one booking at the same time, and expandable booking entries that can be tapped on to provide full job details.

Lyall Cresswell, Managing Director of Transport Exchange Group commented: “We are committed to continually improving the service we provide to members of Haulage Exchange and Courier Exchange through ongoing investment in technology and software innovations. This latest version of our mobile app has been designed and developed in conjunction with these freight operators to ensure they are best placed to maximise and expand their operational capabilities.”
